Sweet Potatoes Baked With Apples
4 medium-size sweet potatoes
4 medium-size apples
1½ cups sugar
1½ cups butter cut into slices
3/4 pint hot water
salt to taste
1. Wash, peel, and cut the potatoes in slices about 1/2 to an inch thick .
Pare and slice the apples in the same way.
2. Put potatoes and apples in baking dish in alternate layers.
Sprinkle sugar and butter over the top, along with hot water.
3. Bake slowly at 350° F for one hour. Serve steaming hot.
